Doctors Also Protesting After Teachers

Apr 06, Kathmandu- Teachers have been protesting since March 20, demanding the promulgation of the School Education Act that is quality education, student-friendly and teacher-staff friendly.

In the meantime, doctors have also taken to the streets. They have protested at Maitighar, saying that they are not getting the minimum wage as prescribed by the government, and are protesting against labor exploitation by resident doctors of Nepal Medical College Jorpati.

They say that they were given only 19,500 out of the minimum salary of 48,000 approved by the Council of Ministers. They have demonstrated carrying placards like ‘Control the extreme commercialization of health education, stop the black marketing of PG seats’.
