Air Flights Affected Due To Weather

Apr 07, Kathmandu- Due to high air pollution, regular flights from airports across the country, including Tribhuvan International Airport, have been affected. Dozens of flights are also being canceled.

Flights are not only being delayed but also being canceled in droves as smoke, dust, and air pollution blanket the skies over flight routes. According to airline companies, more than 200 flights have been canceled in a week.

Buddha Air's Pokhara and Bharatpur flights were also affected on Monday morning, said company spokesperson Dipendra Karna.

Flights from Tribhuvan International Airport have also been affected due to air pollution. Flights to Pokhara and Bharatpur were also affected on Monday morning. Karna said that if the situation continues till 4 am, there is a possibility that all flights will be canceled.

Similarly, the Kathmandu-Tumlingtar flight has been canceled today. The cancellation of flights during the main tourist season has badly affected Nepal's tourism sector, along with economic losses. During the tourist season, airline operators earn good income from flights to Pokhara, Jomsom, and Lukla regions.
