Apr 07, Kathmandu- Former Home Minister and President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane has been taken to the Bhairahawa District Jail today.

The Rupandehi District Police Office sent Lamichhane to the Bhairahawa Jail on Monday after completing the court process.

Lamichhane, who was arrested from his residence in Kathmandu on Friday night, was brought to Gautam Buddha Airport by Yeti Air on Chaitra 23 and taken into custody at the District Police Office.

Today, all court procedures were completed and he was sent to jail. He will remain in the same jail until the court's verdict, said DSP Suraj Karki, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Rupandehi.

Last Friday, a bench of Justices Ramesh Dhakal and Santhiya Parajuli of the Tulsipur High Court in Butwal ordered Rabi to be remanded in custody for trial on the charge of defrauding the cooperative.
