Two Went Missing After Avalanche In Annapurna

Apr 07, Kathmandu- Two people have gone missing after being caught in an avalanche on the Annapurna Himal in Myagdi.

Rima Sherpa and Nima Tashi Sherpa from Solukhumbu went missing when an avalanche hit between Camps 2 and 3 of the Annapurna Himal. They have been missing since Monday morning, said Ningma Sherpa, the operator of a Trekking Agency.

He informed that other Sherpas at the base camp have joined the search for them and a rescue team has been sent from Kathmandu by helicopter.

According to the Department of Tourism, 30 men and 12 women in four groups have obtained permission to climb Annapurna for the spring season.
