Policemen Who Climbed To Everest Handed Over With The Banner

Apr 07, Kathmandu- A Nepal Police banner has been handed over to Police Assistant Inspector Kun Jung Chopel Sherpa, a member of the Everest climbing team, along with best wishes.

At a program organized at the Nepal Police Headquarters today, Inspector General of Police Deepak Thapa handed over a banner with the slogan against gender violence to Sherpa.

Inspector General of Police Thapa wished Sherpa success in the climb and expressed gratitude to various government agencies, organizations and Glacier Himalaya Trek and Expedition Pvt. Ltd. for supporting and facilitating the climb.

At the program, Senior Superintendent of Police Ranju Sigdel of the Directorate of Women, Children and Senior Citizen Services, Criminal Investigation Department, gave a brief information about the campaign and the climbing program related to gender-based violence.

Additional Inspector General of Police Tek Bahadur Tamang, Deputy Inspector Generals of Police, Managing Director of Glacier Himalaya Trek and Expedition Pvt. Ltd. and senior police officers were present on the occasion.
