Apr 07, Kathmandu- One person was killed in a truck accident in Doti. On Monday at around noon in Janjagaran community forest area located in Badikedar Rural Municipality-3 Deuthan, B.P. The district police office has informed that 27-year-old Santosh Gurung of the same rural municipality- 3 Dewal died in an accident involving a minitruck number 03001 B 253.

While collecting rotten wood from the Janajagaran community forest and taking it to the nearby Selaneko River, the minitruck lost control and overturned on the roadside. Gurung is said to have died after being crushed by the wood.

Lok Bahadur Palli Magar, the chairman of the same community forest, was injured in the accident. His left arm and left leg were broken, police said. His condition is said to be normal and he is receiving primary treatment at the local health post, Mulichaur.

Police have stated that truck driver Gopal Badela of Barchai-2, the same rural municipality, is absconding from the incident site and a search is underway for him. Police have stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
