Apr 08, Kathmandu- Of the industries registered with the Office of Industry and Commerce, 279 industries have been closed.
Since Shrawan of the current fiscal year, the industries registered in various places in the district have been closed (cut off). Last year, 181 industries were closed during the same period.
According to Shaktiman Kumal, Information Officer of the office, most of the industries registered for foreign purposes have been closed.
Some have also been closed because they could not operate. According to him, 273 new industries have been registered this year.
262 industries have been registered as private firms, seven as community firms and four as private limited companies. This number was 329 industries registered and operated during the same period last year.
Manufacturing, agricultural and forestry, tourism and service industries have been closed.
He said that the number of people who register companies for foreign employment and show their income and then close the companies after the purpose is over is increasing.
He said that the number of people who operate industries but close them to go abroad due to lack of income is high.
This fiscal year, 2,167 industries have been renewed. Of these, nine have transferred names, while 31 have moved locations. Similarly, 28 have received business amendments and facility recommendations, Kumal informed.
