Apr 08, Kathmandu- Out of the women tested in one week, 48 people tested positive for HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) DNA.
This was revealed in the test reports up to Chaitra 18 during the free cervical cancer and breast cancer screening program launched by Kathmandu Metropolitan City in collaboration with Bir Hospital on Chaitra 2.
The names of 846 women have been registered for the test till March 25. Of these, 613 have been tested.
Of those tested, 144 have had mammograms. Mammograms were performed on women with hereditary breast cancer, those who came into contact after testing positive last year, and those who needed additional testing during the initial screening this year.
Among the tested people, 22 have been found to have problems related to women and childbirth. The test began on Chaitra 12.
Initial treatment will be conducted until Baisakh 12, 2082. Women in the age group of 30 to 60 years who were missed during the test conducted last year, and women who tested positive during the test last year, are the target group for testing and initial treatment.
To get tested, first of all, you should go to the nearest health promotion center and fill in your details. After filling in your details, the center will give you a referral slip. With that slip, you should go to the ground floor of the Bir Hospital Surgical Building for the test. During the test, a clinical examination of the woman's breast is performed.
