Nepal Sends 27 Tons Of Relief To Earthquake-hit Myanmar

Apr 10, Kathmandu- Nepal has provided 27 tons of relief materials to the Myanmar government. The relief materials have been provided as support to the citizens of Myanmar affected by the earthquake.

A Nepali team handed over the relief materials to Myanmar government officials at the Yangon International Airport this morning, said Tapas Adhikari, Joint Secretary and Head of the Southeast Asia Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The relief materials include food, daily necessities, medicines, and health equipment.

According to Joint Secretary Adhikari, the materials were handed over in the presence of Nepali Ambassador to Myanmar Harish Chandra Ghimire and Myanmar government representatives. After the handover, discussions were held between government representatives of the two countries.

The sixteen-member Nepali delegation included high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and journalists.

On that occasion, Joint Secretary Adhikari paid tribute to those who lost their lives in the earthquake and expressed his deepest condolences to the government and people of Myanmar.

He also recalled the assistance provided by the Myanmar government to Nepal during the 2015 earthquake, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
