Durga Prasai And Her Bodyguards Brought To Kathmandu

Apr 11, Kathmandu- Police have brought Durga Prasai and her bodyguard Deepak Khadka, who fled after inciting violence in Tinkune, Kathmandu on Chaitra 15, saying they would bring back the king, to Kathmandu. They were brought to Kathmandu from Bhadrapur Airport on a Buddha Air flight.

According to Nepal Police's central spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General of Police Dinesh Kumar Acharya, Prasai and her bodyguard Khadka were arrested from Bhadrapur and brought to Kathmandu on a Buddha Air flight.

Both of them have been brought to Kathmandu for necessary investigation for crimes against the state and organized crime.

Two people lost their lives when a public meeting organized by a royalist group in Tinkune, Kathmandu, turned violent on Chaitra 15.

The Jana Andolan Mobilization Committee for the Restoration of the Monarchy had sent Prasai as a Janakmandar to the demonstration. Prasai was excited after reaching Nirmal Niwas on Chaitra 14 and meeting former King Gyanendra Shah.

Prasai managed to escape by breaking the police security cordon by inciting the crowd. Prasai's secretariat had claimed that he was arrested from the Indian state of Assam on Thursday night. The police said that he was arrested from Bhadrapur in Jhapa.
