Apr 11, Kathmandu- The Bihar state government said 25 people died in hailstorms in various districts of the eastern Indian state of Bihar on Thursday. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced a financial compensation of four lakh Indian rupees (US$4,649) to the families of the deceased.
The government has said that the death toll due to water-related disasters in Bihar has been increasing for the past two days. The Meteorological Department has issued weather-related hazard warnings in 13 districts of Bihar and has directed locals to remain alert for the next two days.
