Hydrogen Drone Sets New Record In China By Completing A 30-Hour Of Non-stop Flight

Apr 12, Kathmandu- China's domestically developed hydrogen-powered drone has set a new record by flying continuously for 30 hours, according to the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC).

The drone, weighing about 50 kg, was jointly developed by the Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group under AVIC and China's prestigious Tsinghua University.

The drone, which developers say is a major technological achievement given the unique energetic properties of hydrogen, made its record-breaking flight in the Dujiangyan region of southwest China's Sichuan province.

The drone was placed on the roof of an unmanned vehicle to be flown. The drone was successfully flown from above the vehicle while it was in motion.

During the flight, the drone demonstrated its ability to continuously monitor from a distance using the technology on board. This shows that the use of hydrogen drones is very promising.
