Kuwait Wins The Title With A Thrilling Victory Over Nepal

Apr 13, Kathmandu- Despite Bashir Ahmed's excellent batting, Nepal has lost the final of the four-nation T20 series in Hong Kong.

Chasing a target of 175 runs set by Kuwait in a thrilling match held in Mong Kok, Hong Kong on Sunday, Nepal could only score 171 runs after losing all its wickets in 19.3 overs.

Nepal's Bashir Ahmed scored 80 runs in a three-run defeat. He hit eight fours and four sixes in 43 balls. From a critical situation of 92-8, Bashir raised Nepal's hopes by sharing a 72-run partnership for the ninth wicket with Nandan Yadav.

However, Nepal needed 12 more runs to win when Nandan Mohammed Shafiq was 'cut and bowled' in the third ball of the 19th over. Before being dismissed by Shafiq, Nandan had hit two consecutive sixes in the previous two balls. Batting aggressively, Nandan scored 37 runs in 14 balls, including four sixes and two fours.
