Apr 13, Kathmandu- The hearing on the petition filed by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane against the order to send him to pre-trial detention has concluded.

The hearing was concluded on Sunday in a single bench of Supreme Court Justice Tek Prasad Dhungana. Lamichhane's petition was ranked first in the bench.

On Chaitra 22, the Tulsipur High Court had ordered Lamichhane to be remanded in custody. Following that order, he was taken into police custody on Chaitra 22 and is currently in custody awaiting trial.

On Chaitra 29, Lamichhane filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking the quashing of the order to detain him. His wife Nikita filed the petition on his behalf.
