Health Minister Poudel Urges UAE To Help Nepali Workers' Health

Apr 18, Kathmandu- Minister for Health and Population Pradeep Poudel has urged UAE officials to help Nepal's health. Minister Poudel, who is in Abu Dhabi, paid a courtesy call on the Chairman of the Department of Health there, Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori.

During the meeting, Minister Poudel said that a large number of Nepalis are working in the UAE and the Nepalese government is committed to protecting their health. He told Mansoor that he expects support from the UAE government to protect the health of Nepali workers.

He expected support from the UAE government in the steps taken by the government to protect the health of workers before and after his return to the country.

Minister Poudel said that Nepal wants to advance the health sector through digitalization technology. He also said that Nepal wants to implement a health insurance system under universal health access and requested support for the upgrading and expansion of kidney dialysis centers and organ transplantation in Nepal.

UAE Health Department Chairman Mansoor expressed his commitment to support Nepal's health sector. He said that it is necessary to reach an agreement between the two countries and establish mutual support and cooperation. Mansoor praised the Nepali workers in the UAE and said that the UAE is ready to invest in Nepal's health sector to make relations with Nepal more friendly and deepen.

The Nepali Embassy in the UAE has stated that the Nepali government should prepare a suitable environment and legal basis for this. Nepali Ambassador Tej Bahadur Chhetri was also present at the meeting.

Minister Poudel will participate as the chief guest at the Nepal Festival to be organized on Sunday, the embassy has stated.
