Apr 18, Kathmandu- Kathmandu Metropolitan City has collected fines worth Rs 2.5 crore in the first nine months of the current fiscal year 2081/82.
According to the Metropolitan City Revenue Department, by the end of Chaitra, the Metropolitan City has collected revenue worth Rs 24.72 crore under administrative penalties and fines. This is 19 percent more than last year.
By the end of Chaitra last fiscal year, the metropolis had raised Rs 27.72 million.
Kathmandu Metropolitan City has been taking action against political parties and organizations that litter during meetings, conferences, and protests.
Similarly, it has been taking action against various types of people such as pasting posters indiscriminately, putting up hoarding boards, throwing garbage, digging roads without permission, and lighting fires in open spaces.
