Apr 20, Kathmandu- A youth has died after being electrocuted in Ramechhap. The deceased has been identified as Maniraj Tamang, 24, of Likhutamakoshi Rural Municipality-5, Ramechhap.
The District Police Office, Ramechhap, has stated that he was electrocuted while loading sand into a tipper truck at 6:30 pm on Saturday.
According to the police, the deceased Tamang's brother was driving a tipper truck (Ba 3 Ka 1505) to load sand into a crusher operated by Shree Bharat Construction Siddhi Sai JV Company at Rajgaun, Khandadevi Rural Municipality-4, for the under-construction road section of Seleghat-Saghuntar.
While loading sand, Maniraj Tamang was injured when he touched the high-tension line of the Nepal Electricity Authority passing above the same tipper while going to get the sable from the hood.
Although the injured Tamang was taken to the Manthali Hospital for treatment, the hospital doctors declared him dead on arrival at 7:30 am on Saturday, informed DSP Pradeep Kumar Singh, Chief of the District Police Office, Ramechhap.
The police have now taken the deceased Tamang's brother, Kamal Bahadur Tamang, 25, under control and are investigating the incident, he said. The body of the deceased Tamang is currently kept at the Manthali Hospital.
