If the protest does not stop by tomorrow, the Grade 12 exams will be postponed!

Apr 20, Kathmandu- The Class 12 exam will be difficult if the protest program is not withdrawn by tomorrow. The National Examination Board has stated that it will be difficult to take the exam if the school does not open by tomorrow.

According to the board's chairman, Mahashram Sharma, although final preparations are being made to conduct the exam, there is no possibility of it unless the protest is withdrawn. He said that it will be difficult to hold the exam if the protesting teachers do not enter the center by tomorrow, that is, Monday. "We are ready to take the exam by sending the question paper a day in advance, but it will be difficult to hold the exam until the teachers who are responsible for conducting and managing the exam enter the center.

"We have not postponed it yet, there is no possibility that the agitation will continue till tomorrow," said a board source. The board is continuing discussions with Minister for Education, Science and Technology Bidya Bhattarai, President of the Teachers' Federation Laxmi Kishore Subedi, and the district-based Examination Coordination Committee on the issue of conducting the examination.

"There is no plan to hold the exam on Baisakh 11. This year's Class 12 exam has been stopped due to the teachers' protest," the source said. The board has already sent the answer sheets to all the exam centers. There is no problem since the question papers are being sent online. However, due to the protest, the center head did not go to the exam center, which has had a serious impact, and it is not possible to take the exam," the board official said.

Since teachers are the center heads and invigilators of the examination centers, the exams are being postponed due to their lack of cooperation. Nepal Institutional School Teachers Union (ISTU) President Hom Kumar Thapa said that there will be no problem in postponing the exams for a few days, but the problem is due to the government's lack of interest in the demands of teachers. The federation has urged all private schools to close from today. There are 1,591 examination centers for the Class 12 examination. Most of the centers are community schools.

About 44 thousand human resources will be mobilized for the examination. All of them will be from the principal to the teachers, employees and office assistants of the schools. 551 thousand examinees, including regular and part-time examinees and those over 22 years old, will participate. There are 38 thousand examinees from 2056 to 077 BS. There are 99 thousand 793 students in the part-time section and 397 thousand 975 students in the regular section.

The federation has already urged all principals, teachers and employees, including center heads and inspectors, not to be involved in any work 6 days ago. National Examination Board Chairman Sharma said that everyone cooperated in the 12th grade examination. He said - if the examination is not held, the country's image will be damaged internationally, so teachers should not stop the examination.
