Apr 20, Kathmandu- A plane built by Boeing for a Chinese airline has returned to the United States. The plane returned from China and landed at Boeing's manufacturing facility on Sunday.
Boeing had sent the 737 Max to China's Xiamen Airlines. Several other Boeing planes are being prepared for delivery to Chinese airlines in Zhoushan. The plane was also painted in Xiamen Airlines' livery.
However, the plane, which returned due to Donald Trump's trade war, landed at Boeing Field in Seattle. On the way back, the plane stopped in Guam to refuel.
Trump has increased the tariff on China to 145 percent. In response, China has imposed a 125 percent tariff.
The Boeing plane is worth 55 million. However, adding a 145 percent tax to that could put companies buying Boeing planes at risk.
However, it is not clear which party decided to return the plane.
This is expected to cause a huge loss for Boeing, as several Chinese airlines had placed orders for dozens of the planes.
