Head Of The Roman Catholic Church Pope Francis Passes Away

Apr 21, Kathmandu- The head of the Roman Catholic Church and one of the most influential religious figures in Christianity, Pope Francis, has died at the age of 88, the Vatican has officially announced.

International media reported that he died at 7:35 this morning.

Just hours earlier, the pontiff had made a frail but hopeful appearance in St. Peter's Square on Easter Sunday. He blessed the thousands of faithful gathered from his wheelchair.

His Easter address was a sustained plea for peace, tolerance and human dignity.

“There can be no peace without freedom of religion, freedom of thought, freedom of expression and respect for the views of others,” he said, clearly moved.

Pope Francis was discharged from hospital just over a month ago.

Despite his deteriorating health, he continued to carry out his duties with unwavering spirit until his final days.

Further details about funeral arrangements and global reactions have not yet been released.
