According to Dahal's secretariat, he said, "The Communist Party of Nepal, founded with inspiration from Lenin, has turned 77 today, which is a matter of pride for the entire communist movement."
He discussed the Communist Party's history of struggle and said that the communist movement has reached its current state amidst division and sacrifice, adding, "The need of the day is to unite the communists again. We want unity on the basis of ideas, principles and the ideological basis of true communists. We are in the process of reaching out to the people and correcting our weaknesses."
