Measles Outbreak In The US State Of Texas

Apr 26, Kathmandu- The US state of Texas has reported 646 cases of measles. The Texas Department of Health reported 646 cases of measles in the state as of Friday.

According to Reuters, 22 more people have been confirmed to have measles in the past three days. The outbreak is considered one of the worst in US history.

Three people have died from measles in the United States this year. The country declared measles eradication 25 years ago.

Experts have warned that the latest outbreak could pose a major challenge if it is not controlled. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 97 percent of people who have contracted measles have not been vaccinated against it.
