Buddha's thoughts are the basis of the desire for peace: Prime Minister Oli

Apr 26, Kathmandu- Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the importance of Buddha's peace ideas is increasing worldwide.

Inaugurating the Fourth Asian Buddhist Cultural Festival held in Lumbini today, he mentioned that weapons capable of waging war have been developed around the world and this has posed a challenge to world peace. He said that the importance of Buddha's peace ideas is increasing in such a situation. He opined that the basis of the desire for peace of conscious citizens around the world is Buddha's thoughts.

Prime Minister Oli also unveiled a statue of Little Buddha made from a single stone at the event. The fourth festival has been organized in Lumbini to expand cultural relations between Nepal and China. The three-day festival is attended by monks from 50 countries including Thailand, Cambodia, China, and Buddhists.
