Teacher Taken Into Police Custody, About 15 Injured

Apr 27, Kathmandu- Police have taken a teacher into custody after he attempted to break the restricted area and threw stones in the Baneshwor area.

In the ongoing protest demanding the promulgation of the School Education Act, one person was taken into custody after teachers broke the restricted area and threw stones at the police.

The police had fired water cannons after the teacher threw stones while trying to break the restricted area. Police have said that about 15 teachers were injured in the process.

They were stopped by the police after they were preparing to break the restricted area and enter the parliament building.

The Nepal Teachers Federation has continued the protest after talks with the government on Saturday failed to reach an agreement.
