On Monday, cooperative victims protested in a semi-nude manner at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu.

They are carrying placards with slogans such as ‘Our movement is not a desire but a compulsion’ and ‘Do not mistake our patience for weakness’.

Savers who have been suffering from the misappropriation of funds by cooperatives have been protesting on the streets for months. They have been demanding the return of their savings, even if it means confiscating the assets of the cooperative’s directors. The government has not addressed their demands.
