Apr 29, Kathmandu- The Supreme Court has ordered Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Kumar Thapa to submit a written response in a contempt of court case. A joint bench of Acting Chief Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla and Justice Nityananda Pandey ordered General Secretary Thapa to submit a written response.
Advocates Bishal Thapa, Pratibha Upreti and Anantaraj Luintel had filed a contempt of court case in the Supreme Court on Sunday after commenting on the case pending in the Supreme Court.
At a dialogue program titled 'Today's Democracy: Opportunities and Challenges' organized in Kathmandu on the occasion of Democracy Day, General Secretary Thapa commented on the appointments made to constitutional commissions and the ongoing court proceedings against the writ petition filed against them.
