May 01, Kathmandu- Prime Minister KP Oli has said that the name of Sagarmatha is appropriate.

Inaugurating the Koshi Province Investment Summit in Biratnagar on Thursday (Baishakh 18), he said that he was surprised how the name Mount Everest came to be. “Even though I have not climbed Mount Everest, why did the name Everest remain? There are not two names, they are one. That is why it is Mount Everest”, he said.

Prime Minister Oli discussed the importance of Nepal’s mountains from a tourism perspective. He mentioned that there are many more mountains in Koshi Province, which has immense tourism potential.
