May 02, Kathmandu- The highway has been blocked due to the flooding of the diversion at Dumkibas on the Narayanghat-Butwal road along the East-West Highway.

The highway was completely blocked this morning after a flood in the Binyi River washed away a diversion, the District Police Office said.

According to the office's information officer, Madhu Nepal, after the bridge over the Binyi River collapsed, the diversion built to allow vehicular movement on the highway was also washed away by the flood, causing goods and large vehicles to be stopped at the Hongsi Gate and Arunkhola areas.

Passengers and small vehicles have been sent to their destinations via alternative routes. Information Officer Nepal said that it will take time for the blocked road to be fully operational.
