Ambassador Ghimire presents credentials to King Charles III

May 02, Kathmandu- Newly appointed Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Chandra Kumar Ghimire, has presented his credentials to King Charles III.

Ambassador Ghimire presented his credentials during a formal program at Buckingham Palace, said Bipin Duwadi, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Nepali Embassy in the UK. On the occasion, recalling the 209-year-old diplomatic relations between the two countries, King Charles expressed his support for Nepal's development priorities and its progress. Ambassador Duwadi said that he recalled many moments of his personal relationship and visit to Nepal.

While accepting the certificate, King Charles congratulated Ambassador Ghimire on his appointment as the Nepali Ambassador to the UK and expressed his commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations with Nepal and the UK, according to the embassy.

At the event, Ambassador Ghimire emphasized the unwavering friendship between Nepal and the UK spanning over two centuries, expressed gratitude for the UK's continued support for Nepal's socio-economic development initiatives, and said there was a need to further enhance cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Ghimire conveyed the best wishes sent by President Ram Chandra Poudel and Prime Minister KP Oli, wishing King Charles III the personal well-being and the lasting prosperity of the British people.

Ghimire became the 23rd ambassador to formally assume the role of ambassador since the establishment of Nepal's mission in London in 1934.

The ceremony was also attended by the ambassador's wife, Sarita Neupane Ghimire, and embassy staff.
