May 05, Kathmandu- US President Donald Trump has announced the reopening and expansion of Alcatraz prison. "For too long, America has been plagued by brutal, violent and repeat offenders," Trump wrote on his TruthOut social media site on Sunday.
Trump has directed the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the Bureau of Prisons, along with the Department of Homeland Security, to reopen these prisons. He said he has ordered the reopening of Alcatraz prison for America's most brutal and violent criminals. According to him, the reopening of Alcatraz will be a symbol of law, order, and justice.
Alcatraz prison is located on an island. It is considered the most dangerous prison in the world, which was closed in 1963. Alcatraz Island is currently operated as a tourist destination. It is located near the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
