May 06, Kathmandu- Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak is scheduled to respond in Parliament on Baisakh 25 regarding the arrest of Resham Lal Chaudhary, the patron of the Nagarik Unmukti Party.
In a meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Civil Liberties Party chairperson Ranjita Shrestha demanded that the government provide a clear answer to Parliament, including a factual investigation into the arrests.
MPs from other opposition parties, including the Janmat Party and the Nagarik Unmukti Party, also stood up in the meeting and protested, drawing attention to the government's responsibility for Resham's unauthorized arrest. After that, Speaker Devraj Ghimire ruled for the government to respond in the House.
After Speaker Ghimire stated that Home Minister Lekhak had informed them that he would respond on Baisakh 25, the MPs from Janmat and Naupa suspended the obstruction.
