Teacher Sexually Abused Student for

May 06, Kathmandu- A teacher working at Babylon Boarding School in Shantinagar, Kathmandu, has been accused of child sexual abuse.

Changed name ‘Baneshwor 26(64)A’, 54-year-old Tika Prasad Subedi has been taken into custody by the New Baneshwor Police Circle based on a verbal complaint from the victim’s mother on charges of repeatedly abusing a child. The school has stated that he works in the examination department under the administration of the school.

According to the school, Subedi, who is from Belbari Municipality in Morang lives in Kageshwori Manohara in Kathmandu, had been working at the school for about 12 years. Subedi is accused of repeatedly sexually abusing the girl in Chaitra 2080. The complaint states that when she left the classroom during tiffin break, Subedi would call the 14-year-old girl to come to the staff room alone.

The victim's mother has accused him of calling her to the staff room and touching the girl's sensitive parts to commit sexual assault and forcing her to touch and hold her parts. The last time Subedi repeated the same incident was on Chaitra 21, 2080 at 3:30 pm, after which the victim told her everything.

The victim's mother said that when she complained to the school, she was pressured to reconcile and threatened to terminate her daughter. She said that the school pressured her to reconcile on Friday by saying that there was a problem with her daughter's education and that they would terminate her.

She said that Babylon's founder and principal, Raju Rai, and others pressured her to sign the reconciliation paper. However, Principal Rai has claimed that it is not true that the school pressured her to reconcile.
