May 06, Kathmandu- A few years ago, the US tightened its grip on Chinese technology company Huawei. During the first term of the Trump administration, Huawei was blacklisted. After that, Huawei's mobile phones, hardware, and other services were blocked for American users.
Huawei was forced to find an alternative, and it launched a new operating system called HarmonyOS. It took some time for users to adopt it at first, but they gradually got used to it. Although Huawei was unable to return to the US, it is selling smartphones with HarmonyOS in China.
Now that Trump has returned to power, Chinese companies are worried that they will also fall victim to US controls like Huawei. According to reports, brands such as Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus are looking for a Google-free Android system to cope with the possible ban.
