UN Urges India, Pakistan To Exercise Restraint

May 07, Kathmandu- United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called on India and Pakistan to exercise military restraint.

In a letter issued by his spokesperson, the UN chief expressed deep concern over Indian military actions along the Line of Control and the international border with Pakistan.

“The world cannot tolerate a military confrontation between India and Pakistan,” the letter said.

He urged both governments to de-escalate tensions and promote diplomacy. He said a military solution was not a solution.
