May 08, Kathmandu- The Nepali women's cricket team is playing the Asia qualifiers, which will be a qualifier for the Women's T20 World Cup 2026.
In addition to Nepal, hosts Thailand, Bhutan, Kuwait, Qatar, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Bahrain and the UAE are participating in the Asia qualifiers to be held in Thailand. Nepal is in Group 'C' along with Bahrain and Hong Kong. Group 'A' consists of Bhutan, Kuwait and Thailand, while Group 'B' consists of Malaysia, Qatar and the UAE. After the teams from each group play each other twice, the top team in the group will make it to the Super Three. The top two teams in the Super Three will make it to the Global Qualifiers. Nepal will face Hong Kong in the first match of the qualifiers at the Asian Technology Stadium in Thailand at 8:45 am on Friday.
In the last five T20I meetings, Nepal has defeated Hong Kong in two matches, while Hong Kong has also won the same match. One match was canceled due to rain.
