Embassy Instructs Chinese Citizens Not To Enter Indian Territory Through Nepali Border Areas

May 09, Kathmandu- The Chinese Embassy in Nepal has warned its citizens not to travel to the Nepal-India border area.

The Chinese Embassy in Nepal, in a statement posted on its social media account, advised Chinese citizens to avoid the Nepal-India border areas.

Nepal and India have an open border. Chinese citizens should avoid inadvertently entering India without a valid visa, the embassy said, adding that both India and Nepal have increased security efforts along their borders amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

Recently, some Chinese were arrested at the Raxaul border.

With the Indo-Pakistan war, security has been tightened along the Nepal-India border. Both Nepal and India have increased security alert along the border and have asked Chinese citizens not to go to the border area, citing the tense situation.
