May 10, Kathmandu- A motorcycle driver has been seriously injured after a tipper truck hit a motorcycle in Kathmandu.
At 12:45 last night, a tipper truck (Ba 4 Kha 1203) heading from the new bus park near Narayan Gopal Chowk, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-03, collided with a motorcycle (Ba.Pra-02-041 Pa 3938) coming from the opposite direction.
According to Kathmandu Police Range Spokesperson SP Apilraj Bohara, 20-year-old Jatharman Tamang of Gajuri Rural Municipality-07 in Dhading was seriously injured after colliding with a tipper. He is undergoing treatment at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital. He also suffered injuries to his forehead, neck and nose, according to the police.
Preliminary investigation into the accident revealed that the motorcycle driven by Dartaram was stolen, SP Bohara said. Dartaram was found to have stolen the motorcycle from Sankhu, Shankharapur Municipality-7, Sankhu last night. Police have already contacted the owner of the motorcycle, Anil Syangbo.
Police have stated that the accident occurred at midnight while the driver of the tipper was fleeing after stealing. The tipper driver is absconding after the accident. SP Bohara informed that the tipper's owner, Uttam Ghimire of Kakani Rural Municipality-2, Nuwakot, has been contacted.
The injured motorcyclist, Dartaram, has been referred from the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital and taken to the KMC Hospital in Sinamangal.
