May 10, Kathmandu- A woman giving birth at Vardhman Hospital in Golbazar, Siraha, has died. Ramkashi Yadav, 27, of Sitapur, Mirchaiya Municipality-11, died on Saturday morning.
She was taken to Vardhman Hospital by her family members after she started having pain on Friday morning. The baby was delivered by surgery at the hospital around 12 noon. She, who was a mother of two daughters, had previously given birth to a son. The baby is healthy. The joy of the arrival of the child was overwhelming in the family, but that joy did not last long.
As Ramkashi's health deteriorated after he suffered excessive bleeding during the surgery, his family tried to take him out. Despite repeated requests to be referred, the hospital assured him that he would recover here. Due to the delay in referral, he died on the way from Golbazar to Biratnagar.
The deceased's husband, Sant Yadav, said that the Neuro Hospital in Biratnagar declared her dead at 5:30 am on Saturday.
The family members have also protested by placing the body on the highway in front of the hospital, saying that the death of the woman was due to the negligence of the doctors working at the hospital. Following the protest of the victim's family, the police have called three people, including the hospital doctor, for questioning, informed District Police Office Siraha spokesperson and DSP Birendra Paswan.
According to him, preparations are being made to send the body for postmortem. He said that the hospital documents have also been requested for further investigation.
