Portraits Of Gurkha Soldiers Martyred In Afghanistan Handed Over To Families

May 12, Kathmandu- Photographs of 15 Gurkha soldiers and British soldiers who lost their lives during the Afghanistan conflict have been handed over to their Nepali families.

The photographs were handed over during a special ceremony at the Gorkha Museum in Pokhara.

The photographs were on display at the Gurkha Museum in the UK. British artist and former soldier Kevin Wills created a series of photographs of 457 British soldiers who lost their lives in Afghanistan, including 15 members of the Gurkha Brigade.

Kevin Wills and Benjamin Scully, co-founders of the British organization Bravehearts Canvas, arrived in Kathmandu. They were joined by Hari Budhathoki, a former Gurkha soldier who was injured in the Afghan war, who also participated in the program.

The event was attended by British Ambassador Rob Fenn, Commander of British Gurkha Nepal Colonel Dan Dex, Director of the Gurkha Museum Trust Dr. Darren Boyle, family members of Gurkha soldiers, ex-servicemen, and well-wishers.
