May 15, Kathmandu- Xiao Jie, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday night for a four-day visit to Nepal.
Vice Chairman Xiao, who is visiting Nepal at the invitation of Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar, is scheduled to participate in the Sagarmatha Sambad organized by the government.
Vice President Xiao, who arrived in Kathmandu at 11:05 pm on Wednesday, was welcomed at the Tribhuvan International Airport by Minister for Forests and Environment Ain Bahadur Shahi, Coordinator of the Nepal-China Parliamentary Friendship Group Narayan Kaji Shrestha, Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Cheng Song, and General Secretary of the Federal Parliament Padya Prasad Pandey, among others.
Vice Speaker Xiao will meet Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, and Chairman of the National Assembly Narayan Prasad Dahal, and is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Deputy Speaker Indira Rana Magar.
Deputy Speaker Rana has organized a dinner in his honor this evening. The parliamentary delegation led by Vice Speaker Xiao will participate in the Sagarmatha Dialogue and also visit Boudhanath, Swayambhunath, Basantapur Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square in Kathmandu, informed Federal Parliament Spokesperson Ekram Giri.
The delegation is scheduled to return to China on the afternoon of Jestha 3 after completing its visit.
