PM Oli's Invites Russian President Putin to visit Nepal - Do not recruit Nepalese into the Russian army!

May 15, Kathmandu- A delegation led by Batu Khasikov, the head of Kalmykia under the Russian Federation, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today.

The Prime Minister's Secretariat has stated that various aspects of the friendly relations between Nepal and Russia were discussed during the meeting held at the Prime Minister's residence in Baluwatar.

Chief Khasikov invited Prime Minister Oli to participate in the International Buddhist Conference to be held in Kalmykia in September. Prime Minister Oli requested Russian President Vladimir Putin to convey the invitation for an official visit to Nepal.

Prime Minister Oli also urged President Putin to convey his message not to recruit Nepalese into the Russian army in the absence of any military agreement between Nepal and Russia.

In response, Chief Kashikov assured that such recruitment would not be allowed in the future. The meeting was attended by Russian Ambassador to Nepal Aleksei Novikov, high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and others.
