Qatar's Special Envoy Meets With Forest Minister Shahi

May 17, Kathmandu- Bader Omar Ismail Al-Dafa, Special Envoy for Climate Change and Sustainability of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, who is on a visit to Nepal, has met with Minister for Forests and Environment Ain Bahadur Shahi Thakuri.

The ministry stated that during the meeting held on Saturday at the Sagarmatha Sambad site, they discussed various issues of mutual interest between the two countries.

On the occasion, Minister Shahi mentioned that the two countries can forge a long-term strategic partnership in the fields of forest and environment, technology transfer, pollution control and innovation.

Minister Shahi also said that a correspondence will be sent within a month to proceed with the process of providing a pair of elephants that Nepal is said to have provided to the Qatari government as a gift. Special Envoy Dafa expressed gratitude for Minister Shahi's proposal.
