By the end of 2025, China aims to make significant progress in building a digital China. It plans to significantly improve the quality and efficiency of the digital sector by expanding new technology manufacturing capacity. The plan aims to increase the value added of key data-based industries to more than 10 percent of the country's gross domestic product. It also aims to make progress in building an integrated data market and increase the computing capacity to more than 300 EFLOPS.

The action plan covers eight major areas, including systemic innovation, the promotion of local-identified technologies, and applications based on artificial intelligence.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China's digital industry generated revenue of about 850 billion yuan in the first quarter of this year, an increase of 9.4 percent compared to the previous year.

This year's government report mentions accelerating the digital transformation of the production system, developing service providers with skills and technology in the industry, and increasing support for the technology-friendly development of small and medium-sized enterprises.
