May 17, Kathmandu- Two women have been injured in a khukuri attack by a local youth in Baitadi.
Dhanbir Dhanuk, 20, of Purchaundi Municipality-6, Rapana, injured Bikhmati Dhanuk, 70, and Duropati Dhanuk, 68, of the same place, by attacking them with a khukuri this morning, informed District Police Office Police Spokesperson and Police Inspector Baldev Badu. According to him, Dhanbir injured both of them by attacking them with a khukuri this morning.
The injured Bikhmati suffered injuries to his head and right arm, while Duropati suffered injuries to his left ear, police said. Both the injured have been sent to Dadeldhura Hospital for treatment, police spokesperson Badu said. Police have taken Dhanbir, who attacked him with a khukuri, into custody.
Stating that initial investigations have revealed that Dhanbir had a long-standing domestic dispute with Bikhmati's grandson Dinesh Dhanuk, he said that initial investigations have revealed that Dhanbir, who had gone to attack Dinesh with a khukuri, attacked the two elderly women after he did not find him at home.
The District Police Office has stated that further investigation into the incident is underway.
