May 18, Kathmandu- Two bills related to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal and the Nepal Air Services Authority have been sent to the relevant committee of the House of Representatives for clause-wise discussion. Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey presented a proposal to send both bills to the committee for clause-wise discussion in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday. Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire announced that the proposal was unanimously approved based on a voice vote.
These bills will now be discussed clause-wise in the International Relations and Tourism Committee under the House of Representatives. After discussion by the committee, they will be re-presented to the House of Representatives along with a report.
The government has already included these bills in the policy and program for the upcoming fiscal year. According to the proposed bill, the current Civil Aviation Authority will be divided into two organizations - the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal as the regulatory body and the Nepal Air Services Authority as the service provider.
