'Health Sciences University Bill' Has Been Passed By The House Of Representatives

May 18, Kathmandu- The House of Representatives has passed the 'Shaheed Dashrath Chand University of Health Sciences Bill, 2081'. The bill, which originated in the National Assembly along with the report of the Education, Health and Information Technology Committee, was unanimously passed by today's meeting of the House of Representatives.

Earlier, Minister for Education, Science and Technology Raghuji Pant, while responding to questions raised during the discussion on the bill, had said that arrangements have been made to appoint the Minister of Education and Health and Population as the Vice-Chancellor with the aim of making it a center not only for education but also for health.

During the discussion, MP Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai said that justice has been done to the people of the Far West, an issue that has been raised for a long time.

MP Dr. Amaresh Kumar Singh congratulated the people of the Far West and said that there was discrimination in development and that there was not a single government medical college in the Madhesh region so far.

MP Prem Suwal discussed the need for Khwopa University. MP Damodar Poudel Bairagi expressed his belief that the university will be established as a regional center for health education in the Far West.

MP Kiran Kumar Sah said that opening the Shaheed Dasharath Chand Health Sciences University as a contribution to courage and sacrifice is a proud act.

MP Dr Chanda Karki Bhandari suggested that there should be no political participation in the university opened in the name of the martyr and that everyone should work together to make it better in the health sector.

MP Devendra Poudel expressed the view that the issue of selecting the leadership of the university to be built through competition should be included in the bill.

MP Dilendra Prasad Badu emphasized that the state should develop the Shaheed Dasharath Chand Health Sciences University as a model university.

MPs Bijula ​​Rayamajhi, Ramkrishna Yadav, Ram Prakash Chaudhary, Dayal Bahadur Shahi, Prem Ale and Biraj Bhakta Shrestha participated in the discussion.

The next meeting of the House of Representatives is scheduled to be held on 16th May at 11 am.
