May 19, Kathmandu- Nepal has qualified for the global qualifiers for the first time by qualifying for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Asia.
Nepal secured a place in the global qualifiers by winning the Super 3 match against UAE on Monday. Nepal defeated UAE by 5 wickets.
Nepal achieved the target of 115 runs set by UAE in 19 overs for the loss of 5 wickets. For Nepal, captain Indu Verma scored an unbeaten 34 runs.
Earlier, UAE had set a target of 115 runs by losing 7 wickets in 20 overs.
Captain Isha Oja contributed the most with 39 runs for UAE. Similarly, Theertha Satish scored 21 and Heena Hotchandani scored 20 runs.
For Nepal, Manisha Upadhyay took 4 wickets for giving 20 runs in 4 overs. Similarly, Kabita Kunwar took 2 wickets and Rajmati Airee took 1 wicket.
Nepal will now play Thailand on Tuesday. Whatever the result of that match, it will not matter to Nepal.
