RSP MP Manish Jha Claims RSP Chair Rabi Lamichhane Over Smuggling Control And Judicial Trust

May 19, Kathmandu- Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Manish Jha has claimed that Rabi Lamichhane, who has been in charge of the Home Ministry for only 34 days, has been able to bring all smugglers under control.

Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Monday, he said that the current Home Minister has not been able to do any work.

He said, "Recently, a news report has appeared in a media called Capital Nepal and it is written that when Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane came, he said that there was great success in controlling smuggling from the border. However, subsequent Home Ministers say that they did nothing to control smuggling. This is the stunt we do. Is it a stunt to talk about how we controlled smuggling while the RSP was in charge of the Home Ministry in 34 days?"

In addition, Jha expressed concern over the declining public trust in the judiciary. He remarked, “Today, courts are providing various protections, but due to this practice, the trust in the judiciary is weakening. The public’s confidence that justice will be served is diminishing.”

The statements have sparked a debate on government accountability and the independence of the judiciary amid ongoing political discussions.
