On 6th Jestha in Kathmandu, the government appointed Dr. Bishwo Paudel as the Governor. According to government spokesperson Prithvi Subba Gurung, the decision was made during Tuesday’s cabinet meeting based on the recommendation of the Governor Recommendation Committee. Earlier the same day, the committee had proposed three candidates in order of preference: Dr. Bishwo Paudel as the first choice, Acting Governor Neelam Dhungana Timilsina as the second, and former Secretary Dinesh Bhattarai as the third.
