May 21, Kathmandu-The recent warning issued by the US Embassy in India is directed at Indian nationals traveling to the United States on various time-bound visas, including work visas, student visas, and tourist visas, all of which come with a specific authorized period of stay. The advisory emphasizes the importance of adhering strictly to visa conditions, cautioning that violations could lead to future travel bans, potentially permanent in nature. Immigration has remained one of the most contentious issues under the Donald Trump administration. From the very first day in office, the former president made his stance clear through his initial executive order, which challenged the Citizenship Clause of the 14th Amendment— a provision that grants U.S. citizenship to nearly everyone born on American soil. Although this executive order is currently entangled in legal battles, the administration took aggressive steps toward immigration enforcement by deporting undocumented immigrants, arresting them, and even encouraging voluntary self-deportation.
